OK I’m about to let on how incredibly geeky I can be. This is my absolute favourite programme on TV. I missed a couple of episodes because it switched from BBC America to the Sci Fi channel and I didn’t know, but next week begins the two part season finale. I hope that the season repeats. I record episodes on my DVR and watch them as soon as I can. I just watched this week’s and it gave me goosebumps!
The Daleks on Doctor Who terrified me as a kid (see the supreme Dalek below, doesn’t seem so scary does he? But let me tell you, they are petrifying) Even though I was scared I still loved it and now its the best thing on telly, in my book, at any rate. I thought that Christopher Eccleston
was a great Doctor Who
and quite roguishly charming (look at the smouldering photo at right mmm…) and I was so mad when the Doctor regenerated into a new form but David Tennant is BRILLIANT. I love it and his take on the character, but I’m now mad that the season is ending. I had heard it rumoured that the next full series won’t be aired until 2010! WTF? I hope that is wrong. Does anyone know?
If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting the Doctor and friends 1) you’re probably not English, 2) take a look at the official BBC site
and 3) if you’re in the USA catch the season finale on the Sci Fi Channel
on Friday evening at 9/8C or repeat epsisodes from the last couple of seasons on BBC America on Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoons.
Just in case you are really in the dark and baffled by this post, Do
ctor Who is a British science fiction programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious time-traveller, the last of the Time Lords, known as “the doctor”. He travels in his Tardis, which appears from the exterior to be a blue police box and is much bigger on the inside than it looks. With his traveling companions, he explores time and space, solving problems, facing aliens and putting the world to rights — usually to save Earth.
Wow! This seems so lame on paper, doesn’t it? Hahahahaha. Oh well! We all have our quirks, and in this one I am definitely not alone! I think I’ll have to purchase myself some DVDs! Have a great day!
Oh, and David Tennant, by the way, gets my first Golden Platypus Award for his outstanding portrayal of the Doctor!
